For a newly engaged couple, it's most often than not, a difficult task coming up with a reasonable wedding budget.
It's even more burdensome to determine how best to allocate the money you have.
What might be priority for one couple is never the same for another couple.
You may want to have a lavish meal and skimp on the decor; perhaps you want a simple church wedding and that celebrity-looking reception.
Based on the average wedding, most of your wedding budget will be spent on your venue rental, catering & beverages, dinnerware and glassware and finally the wedding cake.
Your next most expensive purchase will be on your decor, furniture rentals, flowers and lighting.
Then comes your wedding attire (bride & groom) as well as hair and make-up.
30% of your budget should cover your photography, music, officiant, marriage license and the rings.
Your least expense would be your stationery - invitations, programs, menus etc.
In reality, this percentage allocation make sense for budgets of US$10,000 or J$1,200,000; as some of your costs a fixed regardless of your guest count or simplicity of the wedding.
Our tip: Utilize as much as you can from your wedding venue and fill in the blanks with your other vendors.
